THE BUSINESS CASE

The story in focus

TÜV SÜD and Accenture presented a joint concept for a Physical AI Safety Suite at NVIDIA GTC Berlin 2026, which uses digital twins, AI agents and simulations to speed certification of physical AI equipment such as autonomous mobile robots in factories and warehouses. It remains a concept, not a delivered product.

  • The suite is a joint concept presented at NVIDIA GTC Berlin 2026, not a launched product.
  • TÜV SÜD estimates the digital process could bring production online up to 30% sooner.
  • The concept assesses automation on three layers, with TÜV SÜD retaining certification responsibility.

What the concept covers

TÜV SÜD, a German testing, inspection and certification organization, and Accenture are collaborating to speed independent certification of industrial automation using NVIDIA technologies. The companies presented the concept, called the Physical AI Safety Suite, at NVIDIA GTC Berlin 2026. It is designed to help companies deploy physical AI equipment such as autonomous mobile robots alongside human workers faster.

Certification against norms such as ISO 3691-4 is mandatory in many industrial countries before automated facilities can be commissioned. TÜV SÜD says coordinating and validating safety concepts at a medium-sized plant can take several weeks. The suite partially digitizes manual assessment using digital twins and AI-powered simulations, and TÜV SÜD estimates the digital process could bring production online up to 30% sooner.

Three assessment layers

The concept assesses automation on three connected layers, with TÜV SÜD providing independent assessment and retaining responsibility for certification. The first layer simulates industrial layouts using NVIDIA Omniverse, Cosmos and Isaac Sim to assess routes, clearances and collaboration areas before robots are deployed.

The second simulates robotic fleets to identify hazards such as workers becoming trapped by robots, and uses NVIDIA Halos and IGX Thor platforms during operation. The third tests individual robots under site-specific conditions, creating certification-relevant scenarios that real-world testing could not practically cover.

Is the Physical AI Safety Suite available now?

No. TÜV SÜD and Accenture are presenting a joint concept at NVIDIA GTC Berlin 2026. TÜV SÜD estimates the digital approach could bring production online up to 30% sooner, but the suite is described as a concept, not a delivered product.
