IBM Launches Ready for SAP Solutions for Cloud ERP Modernization

IBM said IBM Ready for SAP Solutions is designed to help midsize and fast-growing organizations accelerate cloud ERP modernization, unify enterprise data and establish an AI-ready digital core. The offering combines IBM's industry expertise, fit-to-standard delivery and IBM Consulting Advantage, IBM's AI-powered consulting delivery platform, according to the company.

IBM said the solution is currently available in limited countries and for specific industries. The company plans to continue expanding availability globally across additional industries and markets, a forward-looking plan rather than delivered coverage.

Client Deployments Cited

IBM cited Volumetric Building Companies, a global modular construction company, which it said reduced operational cycle times by 50% across purchasing, manufacturing and inventory processes following a three-month SAP Cloud ERP transformation with IBM. The company attributed the figure to the client engagement.

IBM also cited Second Nature Brands, which it said recently completed an SAP Cloud ERP transformation with IBM that integrated its acquired Voortman Bakery business and established a common enterprise platform. IBM said the two deployments show the offering can serve different needs, from operational efficiency to acquisition integration.

AI-Readiness Context

IBM cited research from the IBM Institute for Business Value finding that 68% of enterprises say accelerating ERP modernization is important to improving operational efficiency and maintaining competitiveness. IBM framed modernized ERP as a foundation for scaling AI, while the AI-readiness benefits remain stated positioning rather than measured outcomes in the release.
