Claude and AI agents inside Webex
Cisco announced plans to let teams use Claude in Webex to analyze data, generate content and execute work using shared enterprise context, built with Claude Managed Agents. The company said the capability is coming soon and described it as turning team context into recommendations and coordinated action across approved agents.
Cisco also described collaborative AI agents that can be invited into Webex spaces, meetings and calls to carry out multi-step tasks across Webex and third-party applications. It cited an example of an analytics agent pulling usage statistics and a presentation agent updating a slide deck.
The company said a Webex Suite Model Context Protocol integration brings Webex context into OpenAI's dots, with plans for dots to appear in Webex later as a personal agent. Cisco said identity, security, governance and visibility controls are built in to govern what AI can access and do.
Workplace and customer experience additions
Cisco introduced Intelligent Workplace Experiences, which it said unites secure networking, collaboration devices, digital experience assurance and physical spaces under Cisco Cloud Control. The release lists Workplace Designer for visual planning, Experience Metrics extended to workplaces, and Workplace Insights for space utilization.
Cisco also announced Dialog, an agentic harness for the Webex AI Agent platform. It is designed to sustain customer relationships across channels and time, keep working after a conversation ends, refine performance with each interaction, and onboard agents using existing handbooks and procedures. Webex AI Agents operate within Cisco AI Defense guardrails with telemetry from Splunk, Cisco said.
RoomOS 27, slated for November, adds Google Meet support to Cisco devices alongside Webex, Microsoft Teams and Zoom, and an AI Assistant on devices that Cisco said now handles 32 languages.
When will RoomOS 27 be available and what does it add?
Cisco said RoomOS 27 is available in November. It adds native Google Meet support alongside Webex, Teams and Zoom, an AI Assistant that handles 32 languages, and workspace management tools in RoomOS 27 and Cisco Cloud Control.
